INUNDAÇÃO
Work created for the exhibition "ALMOST AN ISLAND" at Galeria Península, which I curated alongside artist Denis Rodriguez. The exhibition discussed the geopolitical issues of the current Ponta do Cais region, which was formerly a peninsula. Also participating in this exhibition were artists Adauany Zimovski, Adrián Montenegro, Avatar Moraes, Gustavo Freitas, Leonardo Remor, Letícia Ramos, the duo Virginia Simone & Matheus Walter, Rommulo Vieira Conceição, Thiago Gonçalves, and Túlio Pinto. "Inundação" is a video that demarcates two trajectories: the first is a walk performed with a 30-meter-long dress marking the territory of the old beach street before its landfill. The other is the aerial trajectory taken by a drone, which captures my walk. Both demarcate and return to the street, where the waters once crossed, the metaphor of water. Aerial images show the historic center and the city, a tribute to the peninsula and its geopolitics (see DVD video).
